Styrene Butadiene Rubber - SBR
Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR) is a general purpose synthetic rubber. It must be compounded with reinforcing fillers for high strength and then has physical and chemical properties similar to natural rubber. Styrene Butadiene Rubber's abrasion resistance is better than natural rubber. it has good elasticity, and good low temperature properties but poorer fatigue resistance.
This is the highest volume general purpose synthetic rubber. It is very weak unless reinforcing fillers are incorporated. With suitable fillers it is a strong rubber although not approaching natural rubber or polychloroprene.
General uses: Industrial products rubber tube, rubber belts.
